Anambra’s CP has contacted his Kogi counterpart to coordinate efforts in locating the kidnapped commissioner and his wife.

CP Nnaghe Itam, the Commissioner of Police for Anambra State, has initiated contact with his Kogi State counterpart to seek assistance in securing the release of Patrick Aghamba – who was kidnapped while serving as Commissioner for Youths Development.

According to reports, Aghamba was abducted while traveling by road from Kogi State to attend the wedding of Adaora – daughter of Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo – in Abuja.

According to reports, he and his wife were allegedly abducted while an aide who was accompanying them was murdered by the kidnappers.

SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, stated that he received news of the incident in a similar manner as everyone else when contacted by OBASANJONEWS to confirm.

According to him, the news about their captivity was received this morning just like it was by everyone else. However, CP Enaghe Obono Itam of Anambra has contacted the Commissioner of Police in Kogi State and urged them to take action towards securing their release.

The commissioner has shared the news on several strategy forums to assess potential solutions and vowed to provide complete assistance, including any pertinent information for the rescue operation.

The abducted commissioner’s family has not yet been contacted by the kidnappers at the time of writing this report.
