Anambra commissioner and his wife were kidnapped, and one person was killed by gunmen while en route to Abuja.

Unknown gunmen have abducted Patrick Aghamba, the Commissioner for Youths Development in Anambra State, and his spouse.

Kpajie ABK Offiah, a notable youth leader from Onitsha and an All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) member who was on the same trip as the commissioner and his wife, was also reportedly murdered by unknown attackers.

According to reports, the couple was en route to Abuja for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s daughter’s wedding on August 17th. However, they were abducted and taken hostage at a location in Kogi State during their journey.

The confirmation of the incident was made by Christian Aburime, Governor Soludo’s Press Secretary. However, he mentioned that there are conflicting reports about where exactly the abduction took place as some point to Kogi while others suggest Edo states.
