A 37-year-old thug who was terrorising locals was apprehended by the Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun) in Osun State.
The accused is charged with making life difficult for residents of Ikoyi-Ile Town in the Isokan Local Government Area.
He was detained on Wednesday as a result of many allegations, according to retired Brig.-Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi, commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps.
According to Adewinmbi, the assailant frequently acts alone and uses a cutlass and charms to regularly target local inhabitants.
He acknowledged acting erratically and stirring up trouble in the neighbourhood when questioned. He requested pardon, he said.
The suspect has been turned over to the Osun Police Command for additional investigation and potential legal action.
Adewinmbi warned the populace to exercise caution and warned that anyone found committing violence would face the full force of the law.
The former general thanked the locals for providing information to Amotekun, claiming that their aid has helped reduce crime and make arrests of offenders.
