Sporting CP manager Rúben Amorim arrives at Manchester United, fueling rumors about potential managerial changes and his possible role at the club.
New Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has arrived at the club’s Carrington training complex.
The club confirmed Ruben Amorim’s arrival in a Monday statement on their website, titled “Ruben Amorim Arrives at Carrington.”
At 39 years old, he took a flight from Beja Airport in Portugal to Manchester the morning after his former club Sporting secured a 4-2 victory against Braga in his final match as their manager.
Ruben Amorim was met with a hug from Chief Executive Omar Berrada outside the men’s first-team building and received warm welcomes from Sporting Director Dan Ashworth and Technical Director Jason Wilcox.
Amorim will meet with key staff ahead of beginning work as soon as his visa is secured.
The statement says, “Our new boss has 13 days to get ready for his debut managing the first team – our Premier League match against Ipswich Town away on Sunday, November 24th at 16:30 GMT.”
