Sam Amadi, the director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, has called on the election petition tribunals to declare candidates with false certificates ineligible.
According to Amadi, politicians, including academics, attorneys, and doctors, are flaunting phony degrees as the country is on the verge of collapse.
He made the case that it is in the country’s best interest to remove any official who has falsified a certificate from their position.
The social critic said that the court must uphold public ethics in a post on his Twitter account on Wednesday.
Fake certificates and national survival is what he wrote.
Nigeria is perishing as a result of phony diplomas issued by professors, attorneys, doctors, politicians, etc.
“In Lagos, Enugu, Oyo, and other places, the least any tribunal, including PEPT, can do is declare any candidate with a forged certificate ineligible for office.
In Europe, Asia, or America, there has never been a nation with widespread certificate fraud. No matter how esteemed or well-intentioned, it is in the best interest of the country to remove any official who falsifies a certificate from office. Public ethics [sic] must be safeguarded by the court.
