Alleged ritual: Amotekun arrests three individuals for the illegal activities of exhuming corpses and stealing body parts

Three people were taken into custody by the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSW) in Osun State as part of Operation Amotekun for taking body parts out of tombs and reusing them in ritualistic ways.

Amotekun spokeswoman Mr. Adeniyi Brown confirmed the arrests in a statement on Tuesday. He named the suspects as a local doctor, a driver, and an auto technician (43, 56).

Amotekun agents responded to intelligence information and apprehended the defendant in Iwo. The accused claimed they exhumed the victims and sold the parts for rituals that generated money, and they acknowledged their involvement in the horrific behaviour during interrogation.

He said that retired Brig.-Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi, the state’s Amotekun Commander, had ordered that the suspects be turned over to the police so that they could be looked into and charged further.

Adewinmbi advised Osun citizens to exercise caution and alert security authorities to any questionable activities. He underlined how crucial it is for the public to get involved in maintaining security by reporting odd events.
