Alleged N30bn Fraud: Court Orders Nigerian Billionaire Oba Otudeko to Appear for Trial

A Nigerian court has ordered billionaire businessman Oba Otudeko to appear for trial over an alleged N30 billion fraud case.
The Federal High Court in Lagos has mandated Nigerian billionaire Oba Otudeko to enter a plea regarding the charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke issued the order on Monday.
This follows the filing of a 13-count charge by the anti-corruption commission against Otudeko, who served as Chairman of Honeywell Group, along with three others, concerning an alleged N30 billion loan fraud.
During the hearing, the judge stated that Otudeko must enter his plea before any application questioning the court’s jurisdiction over the case can be addressed.
Justice Aneke then postponed the case to May 8.
Last month, Otudeko denied the allegations made against him.
On January 20, Bode Olanipekun, the attorney representing Oba Otudeko, objected to the charges against his client in a Lagos court.
