A High Court in Maitama, located within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has issued a public summons for Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State.
The court mandated Bello to appear in court and respond to a new set of 16 charges filed against him.
According to the summons, Bello is scheduled to appear in court for his arraignment on October 24, along with two other defendants.
Justice Maryanne Anenih issued the public summons order on Thursday after receiving an application from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Justice Anenih instructed the EFCC to publish the public summons in a widely circulated newspaper.
She additionally instructed the EFCC to post copies of the public summons at Bello’s last known address and in prominent locations within the court premises.
The EFCC stated that it has been unsuccessful in serving the charge, filed on September 24, to Bello. The charges accuse the former governor and two others of a criminal breach of trust involving N110.4 billion.
The charge also includes Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu as defendants.
Bello’s absence delayed the arraignment that was originally planned for Thursday.
