Alleged fund misappropriation: ICPC eventually frees D’banj

Oladapo Oyebanjo, better known by his stage name of D’banj, was released on Friday by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), after he had been detained and arrested for allegedly diverting N-Power monies.

The well-known musician who was arrested on Wednesday was accused of conspiring with politicians and banks to divert money.

According to Vanguard, the commission held the musician for three days before letting him go on Friday. The investigation is still going on.

The musician was released on the grounds that he might be called in later for more inquiries.

Recall that Pelumi Olajengbesi, D’banj’s attorney, had sought the release of his client in a statement and asked the National Assembly to become involved by looking into the accusations made against him.
