Since the start of 2024, the phrase “No greed for anybody” has gained popularity on Nigerian social media.
Ekubo cautioned against the term in a message published on his Instagram page on Monday.
He acknowledged that everyone is engaged in conflict, but cautioned Nigerians that the terminology might encourage violence and a culture of retaliation.
“I stopped to think things through. I notice the same negativity and gbas gbos that have impeded our progress when I emerge from my sombre area.
Please explain the phrase “No greed for anybody,” which I keep reading everywhere. It is cultivating a culture of retaliation and inciting violence.
