Albino Catholic priest in Benue was killed through lighting
Rev. Fr. Faustinus Ukenongo Gundu, a Catholic priest, was purportedly killed by lightning in Benue State.
Witness accounts claim that on Thursday, an albino named Gundu was struck by lightning and perished instantly.
At his church in Jootar Mbaterem, in the Mbayenge Ward of the Ukum Local Government Area, the incident took place.
Up until his alleged tragic death, Gundu was claimed to be the parish priest in charge of St. Joseph Catholic Church Jootar.
Emberga T. Joseph, an eyewitness, wrote in the well-liked Benue News Link Makurdi Facebook group: “Black Thursday. Rev. FR. GUNDU (ABINO), of the Ukum LGA of Benue state, was murdered by lightning. Peace be with you.
The parish priest in charge of Jootar in Ukum LG, Rev. Fr. Gundu, was murdered by a thunder bolt, according to Aga Linus, another eyewitness, who posted the following on his Facebook page. Rev., may your soul find peace.

Olikita Ekani, a former media assistant to Samuel Ortom, the state’s most recent governor, also posted about the incident on his Facebook page.
As thunder struck Jootar, he reported, “Just in: Rev. Fr. Gundu slumps to death.
Rev. Fr. Faustinus Ukenongo Gundu, affectionately known as Albino, served as the parish priest of St. Joseph Catholic Church Jootar in the Ukum LGA of Benue State till his passing today.
“May he rest in perfect peace,” we pray.
Numerous parishioners and other mourners sent eulogies for the Catholic priest in the comment sections of articles about the tragedy.
Our reporter’s attempts to contact Catherine Anene, the spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, for confirmation of the occurrence were unsuccessful because she did not return calls or messages.
