Akwa United and Sporting FC select wild cards for the Nigerian Super 8

After being chosen by the organizers on Friday night, Akwa United and Sporting FC will participate in the Naija Super 8 tournament.

The two groups will play with six other groups that advanced from the zonal playoffs.

While Sporting FC will compete for the host state of Lagos, Akwa United is a past champion of the Nigeria Premier League.

Group A will feature the winners of the Nigeria Premier League, Enyimba, Remo Stars, Katsina United, and Sporting FC.

Yobe Desert Stars, Rivers United, Akwa United, and Lobi Stars make up Group B.

Each group’s top two teams will earn a spot in the semi-finals.

From July 7 to July 16, the competition will take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.
