In Akwa Ibom, women who give birth to twins will now receive a cash benefit of N50,000, while N10,000 will be given to those who have triplets.

This generous initiative is part of the Empowerment Programme for Mothers of Multiple Births, which was introduced by Mrs Patience Umo Eno, the governor’s wife. The aim of this program is to provide monthly stipends to these mothers in order to alleviate the financial burden of caring for multiple births.

Mrs Eno expressed her love for twins and triplets and emphasized the importance of appreciating and loving these children. She assured the mothers that these children would bring blessings and fame to their families.

The caretaker Chairman of Ikot Ekpene Local Government, John Etim, commended Mrs Eno for her consistent social investments, which have greatly impacted the administration of Governor Eno. The event concluded with the distribution of baby packs and cash to the grateful beneficiaries by Mrs Eno and other dignitaries in attendance.
