Even though he is sick, the governor of Ondo State is still doing his job, according to the state government.
His chief press secretary, Richard Olatunde, said that Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is not in bed and is getting better from a health problem.
However, Olatunde stated that “there is no cause for concern about the governor’s health,” while ignoring Akeredolu’s “health difficulty.”
The statement, which was partly signed by Olatunde, said that “Governor Akeredolu, like all of us, has had some health problems that he has since been treated for and is getting better quickly from.”
“The health issue is therefore not an exceptional one because the governor is not a superhuman and the immunity his office enjoys does not extend to physical health or otherwise.”
Contrary to rumours and suppositions going around, the governor is nonetheless performing his official duties despite his frailty.

The governor’s aide emphasised that there is no serious ailment that the governor’s principal is dealing with that may have inspired any purported plot within his administration.
He did hold an Executive Council meeting with the Exco members on January 11, 2023, until 4 p.m., following a Security Council meeting at which important decisions on the escalating clashes in Ikare-Akoko were made.
“On January 7, 2023, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate was welcomed to Akure for the State Presidential Campaign Rally by Governor Akeredolu, his fellow governors in the Southwest, and other party leaders.
“On January 8, 2023, he attended the Holy Service honouring the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration at The Redeemed Christian Church of God’s Jesus House Cathedral, Region 22 Headquarters, Oke-Ijebu, Akure.
“To emphasize, the governor could not have been bedridden as widely assumed, given that he was engaged in demanding campaign activities on January 7th.Furthermore, on Friday, Governor Akeredolu continued to dedicate a brand new refrigerator van for use by meat vendors in the state. On the same day, he also received the Lions Club International’s Melvin Jones Award.
Olatunde said that Akeredolu would “continue to carry out his official duties to the wonderful people of Ondo while he gets some good rest.”
