After taking several months off for medical reasons, Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has officially told the state House of Assembly that he is returning to work.
Olamide Oladiji, the Speaker of the Assembly, acknowledged in a statement that the letter had been received during a legislative session.
According to the letter, which was received on Friday, Akeredolu will return to work on Friday, September 8, 2023.
Oladiji, who thanked God for ensuring the governor’s safety, highlighted that his action was in accordance with Section 190(1) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Constitution (as amended).
After completing a three-month medical leave in Germany, Akeredolu landed in the nation on Thursday.
The governor met with his cabinet, lawmakers, and several political organisations on Friday in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, after his arrival.
Akeredolu is reportedly planning to visit Ondo State again the following week.
