The conflict between Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, caused political tension in Ondo State, and on Thursday the State Executive Council voted to support the governor.
The 33 cabinet members pledged to support the governor in his efforts to ensure the state’s growth in a communiqué they all signed.
Signatories to the communiqué included 16 Commissioners, 12 Special Advisers, Olugbenga Ale, the governor’s chief of staff, Kayode Ogundele, the head of service, and Secretary Oladunni Odu.

Nevertheless, the communiqué was not signed by the commissioners for Commerce, Industry, and Cooperative, Akinwumi Sowore, and Energy, Mines, and Mineral Resources, Razaq Obe.
The cabinet members stated in the communiqué—which OBASANJO NEWS24 was able to obtain—that the decision was made as a result of the governor’s “exemplary leadership.”
They argued that the state as a whole, as well as the people, had benefited from Akeredolu’s rule.
As the Governor’s enlisted men and women, we are incredibly proud to serve under him.
It is extremely impressive to see his unwavering passion, sleepless nights, and commitment to serving and safeguarding the state’s citizens in spite of many obstacles in the past.
Thus, we all together affirm our unwavering faith in Mr. Governor and support his effective leadership. We are united in our support of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, and we promise to keep collaborating for the state’s progress and prosperity, according to the release.
