President Bola Tinubu has officially appointed Ambassador Desmond Akawor as a commissioner of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
Ambassador Akawor, who recently underwent a screening process by the Senate, was previously serving as the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State.
The swearing-in ceremony took place just before the commencement of the first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting of the year, held in the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja.
Following the ceremony, President Tinubu chaired the FEC meeting, which was attended by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, and other cabinet members.
Further updates will be provided in due course.
