Mr. Emmanuel Ajah, the chairman of Ivo Local Government in Ebonyi State, strongly denounced the kidnapping of a man, his wife, and three other people at Mile 2 in the state on Wednesday.
According to OBASANJO NEWS24, the victims were on their way home after a burial when the kidnappers attacked them and took them to an unidentified location.
It was learned that the kidnappers had left the victims’ children in the car.
“There was a kidnapping incident around that place last Sunday,” Ajah told reporters in Abakaliki.
“I have been working to guarantee that the security situation in Ivo LGA is resolved. I have set up around three military bases and checking points, mostly for the Aguleri and Calaba people.
“Unfortunately, they abducted the driver, the husband, and the one wife while leaving the children in the car.
Some of their valuables were taken by the kidnappers. One of my neighbours was also abducted while working on his farm by the kidnappers.
