Ondo State’s Deputy Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has thanked the state’s residents and the State Executive Council for their support when he filled in for Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
This is said in a statement that his representative in Akure provided to newsmen.
Mr. Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson in Akure, press secretary.
The return of Akeredolu was characterised by Aiyedatiwa as a commitment to the will of the state’s citizens.
Akeredolu took a three-month medical leave before returning to work on Friday, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
The acting deputy governor claimed that he kept in touch with him often during that time.
He continued, “This demonstrates my concern for the wellbeing of the state’s citizens, and I am grateful to the Almighty God for giving our governor greater health and a safe flight back home.
Since the governor kept in touch with us during that time, as I’ve mentioned a number of times, we were able to reassure the state’s residents that there was no need to be concerned about his health.
He has proven his dedication to the mandate twice granted to him by the people of Ondo State by starting work as soon as he arrived back in the nation.
He continued, “His prompt resume also shows his determination to work for them until the last day of his administration.”
Aiyedatiwa acknowledged and thanked the state’s residents for their prayers during the previous three months for Akeredolu.
“I also want to thank them for helping me out while the governor was away as acting governor. The support for this administration has my sincere gratitude.
“As we all welcome back Mr. Governor to office, I pray that God Almighty will continue to protect, guide, and grant him strength as he continues to lead the good people of Ondo State towards transformational development,” Aiyedatiwa added.
