In relation to the killings of police officers in the Ughelli area of Delta State, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has announced that nine individuals have been apprehended.
This announcement was made during a management meeting of the Force on Thursday.
The arrested individuals are currently cooperating with the authorities and providing valuable information that will aid in the arrest of others involved in these heinous crimes.
It is worth noting that six police officers were tragically killed at Ohoro forest in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State on February 23, 2024.

Additionally, six other suspects connected to these killings are still at large.
Around the same time, 17 military personnel were also murdered in Delta State, causing widespread outrage and condemnation.
Despite these challenges, the military authorities have vowed to relentlessly pursue the masterminds behind these attacks and remain committed to eradicating criminal activities in the country.
President Bola Tinubu has posthumously honored the slain soldiers with national awards and has provided scholarships for their children.
