Air strikes resulted in the deaths of three terrorist leaders and 30 additional individuals in Borno
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) conducted air strikes that resulted in the elimination of three high-ranking terrorists and 30 of their followers in Borno State.
The individuals identified as Ali Dawud, Mallam Ari, and Bakurah Fallujah, were targeted along with their associates on April 13 at the ISWAP hideouts in Kolleram village near Lake Chad, as reported by NAF spokesperson Air Vice Marshall Edward Gabkwet on April 16.
The air strikes not only took out the terrorist leaders but also led to the destruction of numerous vehicles, motorcycles, and logistical resources used by the group.
The strikes were successful in wiping out a significant facility within the Kolleram area, which was crucial for the terrorists’ food processing operations, including grinding machines.

The intelligence gathered post the air strikes revealed that the attacks had a substantial impact on the operational capabilities of the terrorists by disrupting their logistics.
Gabkwet emphasized that the NAF’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and safeguarding Nigerian citizens was evident through these targeted operations, which have significantly weakened the ISWAP group in the region.
The spokesperson highlighted that the airstrikes were a vital addition to the continuous efforts of ground forces in the Lake Chad region, marking a significant advancement in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria.
The successful neutralization of key terrorist figures and the destruction of their infrastructure have dealt a severe blow to the terrorist organization, demonstrating the NAF’s dedication to enhancing national security and combating extremism effectively.
