Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, a controversial Islamic scholar, said he has no intention of responding to people who have called for his arrest as a result of a recent remark he made about Christians.

According to OBASANJONEWS24, Gumi once described Nyesom Wike, the minister for the Federal Capital Territory, as a “satanic person” in a sermon.

Gumi asserted that if the FCT and Israel worked together, Muslims would suffer.

He also emphasised how risky it was to leave Nigeria’s national security in the hands of Christians and people from the South.

His remark had caused controversy as people and organisations demanded his immediate arrest for allegedly damaging the reputation of Nigerian Christians.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo claims Gumi ought to be detained for calling the preacher a “well-known associate of bandits” in his remark.

When asked about the requests for his arrest by OBASANJONEWS24, Gumi only responded, “I should not have reply for idiots in a democracy.”
