Again, British Council hikes IELTS fee, Nigerians to pay N139,000
The British Council in Nigeria has recently announced a significant increase of 29% in the fees for the IELTS examinations. Starting from February 1, 2024, applicants will be required to pay a sum of N139,000 for the Computer Academic and General Training Modules.
The IELTS examination is widely recognized globally and serves as a credible proof of language proficiency for non-native English speakers.
The British Council has attributed the fee adjustment to the rising costs associated with conducting the examination.
This adjustment in fees will enable the British Council to continue providing a wide range of services and comprehensive support to help individuals achieve their goals.
It is worth noting that this is the second price increase within a span of five months, as the fee for the IELTS was previously raised from N80,000 to N107,500 in September of the previous year.
