President-elect Bola Tinubu has received congratulations from Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola for winning the general election.
After a close race on Saturday, the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, declared the former Lagos governor the winner on Wednesday morning.
Aregbesola won the Osun governorship election after serving as commissioner under Tinubu’s governorship.
About the selection of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for another term in office, the minister and Tinubu were at odds.
Many people think that Oyetola’s defeat to the PDP last year was caused in part by Aregbesola’s refusal to publicly support him.
He described the days of conflict with Tinubu before becoming the leader of Lagos in a statement on Thursday.
The article by Tinubu, titled “Jagaban: A call to responsibility,” discussed the battle of NADECO, the Justice Forum, and Tinubu’s journey from Primrose Circle.

Aregbesola hoped that the victory would help President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration’s “eight years of huge infrastructural development and progressive policies” to be more solidified.
As the head of both groups, the minister tasked Tinubu with making sure that Nigeria lives up to its historical obligation to Africans and the Black Race.
Aregbesola continued, “I pray that God would provide you good health and the wisdom required for a successful stay in office.
