However, the crisis was swiftly stabilized by the emergency response team.
The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja has been the scene of a crash involving a Max Air flight carrying 143 passengers from Yola, Adamawa State.
On the plane, there was also a baby.
The management of Max Air confirmed the occurrence in a statement and stated that the tragedy happened as a result of the plane’s two tyres bursting during the landing in Abuja.
“On May 7, 2023, a Max Air flight carrying 143 people, including one infant, departed Yola about 14:05 and was intended to land in Abuja at 15:01. The emergency response team at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport responded right away after the plane’s two tires exploded during the landing in Abuja, it added.
“We are happy to announce that all the passengers and crew on board the aircraft are safe and sound. The statement also said that the airline has taken all required precautions to make sure that the passengers were safe and well-cared for during this time.
“They and their bags have been taken to the arrival terminal.
“The aircraft tires are being changed, and after taxiing to the ramp, the aircraft will be released for upcoming flights following additional inspection.”
