After Tinubu’s triumph, Bode George discloses his departure from Nigeria
Former PDP deputy national chairman Chief Bode George has stated that he will hold off on making a decision to leave the country until after the presidential election petition tribunal rules on the outcome of the election.
On Tuesday, Bode responded to inquiries on the Morning Show programme on Arise Television.
Remember that if Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, won the election, he had promised to move to a foreign country, specifically Togo.
People have been pleading with Bode to reveal when he would carry out his threat to leave the nation when Tinubu was recognised as the winner by the Independent National Election Commission, INEC.
He did, however, state that he would wait for the judiciary to decide on the election’s conclusion.
Over eighty years old, Bode declared, “I may choose to live the remainder of my life in peace.” Remember, I served in the military and have been to practically every country in the world. I can still choose to return to any location and live in peace there; all I need for my children and grandkids to be healthy is access to water, power, safety, and food.
I only need to leave party politics as soon as possible because for the past 25 years, I have been striving and fighting to make this country function.
“I shall choose when I go; that is my prerogative. The match has not yet ended. We’ll wait to see how the legal system rules. While I have family here, that doesn’t imply I’ll never return to Nigeria. Will I immediately start looking for a new work if I say I’m going to be out and won’t be here? Now, no one will hire me.
