The 37-year-old accomplished the milestone when Portugal defeated Ghana 3-2 at the World Cup after he converted a penalty.
In the 65th minute, the former Manchester United attacker converted a penalty to give Portugal the lead.
During the match at Stadium 974, his colleagues Joao Felix and Rafael Leao also scored goals against Ghana (Ras Abu Aboud).
With eight goals in the World Cup thus far, Ronaldo leads Messi with seven.
The five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or will look to lead Portugal to victory against Uruguay in their next World Cup match.
