After passing away, Mohbad sets a new Spotify record

The extended play “Blessed” by the late artist and rapper Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, alias Mohbad, has broken a record by becoming the first EP to top the Spotify Nigeria weekly albums chart.

After the EP topped this week’s album list, the “Imole” singer accomplished the feat after passing away.

On September 12, 2023, Mohbad passed away in a contentious situation. Since his tragic passing, his tunes and albums have dominated Nigerian music streaming services.

He has songs that are among the top 10 on Apple Music Nigeria, including “Peace,” “Feel Good,” “Ask About Me,” and “Beast and Peace.”

With “Ask About Me,” he topped the Spotify Nigeria singles chart.

His EP, “Blessed,” debuted in the top 20 of the UK Apple music charts.
