A week after the Super Falcons’ elimination from the 2023 Women’s World Cup, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, welcomed them to the State House in Abuja on Monday.
The First Lady, who met with some of the players, their technical staff, and representatives of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), praised the girls for their commitment, tenacity, and sense of unity, which are qualities that are emblematic of Nigeria.

The President’s wife praised all the players, saying they did a good job of representing Nigeria on a worldwide scale and that the world was impressed by their skill.

Ibrahim Gusau, the NFF President, thanked the First Lady for the gracious welcome and reassured her that the players will continue to provide positive and high-quality representation for the nation in his words.
