After explosive comments from Ronaldo, Man Utd will “take appropriate steps.”

The club has “taken proper procedures,” according to Manchester United, in response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s incendiary interview that cast doubt on his future at Old Trafford.

During the 90-minute interview that aired on TalkTV, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner stated he did not respect United manager Erik ten Hag and attacked the Glazer family, who control the team.

The club released a statement saying, “Manchester United has this morning begun proper procedures in reaction to Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent media interview.”

“Until this process is through, we won’t be making any more comments.”

Ronaldo’s refusal to enter the game as a substitute against Tottenham last month led to the club suspending him for a 1-1 draw at Chelsea.

The 37-year-old said that Ten Hag “provoked” him into having that reaction during the interview with Piers Morgan.

Ronaldo remarked, “I think he did it on purpose.
“I felt angry.
He doesn’t treat me with respect, therefore I don’t respect him.

In the Dutchman’s first season as United’s manager, Ronaldo has had a little role on the pitch, scoring just once in the Premier League.

He did, however, rejoin the squad and even led United in a 3-1 loss against Aston Villa in his final game for the club.

Gary Neville, a former United captain, asserted on Thursday that the team must terminate Ronaldo’s contract, which is valid through the end of the current campaign.

Ronaldo is presently getting ready to represent Portugal in his sixth World Cup in Qatar.

He stated that he intends to play until he is 40 and denied rumors that he would have few choices should he decide to switch teams during the January transfer window.

Between 2003 and 2009, the Portuguese player won three Premier League championships as well as the Champions League.

But since his return to the team from Juventus in August 2021, things haven’t gone well.

Despite Ronaldo’s 24 goals in all competitions, United missed out on the Champions League after finishing sixth in the Premier League last season.

Ten Hag is starting to turn things around for the English giants after a terrible start that included losses to Brighton and Brentford, but most of United’s greatest performances this season have come without Ronaldo.

When Ronaldo started, United only had one league victory all year, but they are still in the mix to qualify for the Champions League.

With a game still to play, Ten Hag’s team is three points behind fourth-place Tottenham in the Premier League rankings.
