After drone assaults overnight in six separate districts, Russia declares that anyone who violate its soil will face “punishment”

The foreign ministry attributed the strikes to Ukraine and asserted that Western intelligence was necessary for them to have occurred so deeply within Russia.

A raid on Pskov airport, hundreds of kilometres north of the Ukrainian border, caused two military cargo planes to catch fire.

Drone attacks have increased recently, but Ukraine hasn’t claimed responsibility for any specific attacks.

The largest air attack on Kiev in months has resulted in the deaths of two individuals.

As a missile was shot down by Ukraine’s air defence, a massive flame was visible lighting up the night sky in the capital. Falling debris struck several buildings.

As air raid sirens rang in Kyiv and then explosions forced us into the bomb bunker, our crew had a difficult time sleeping last night.

Since Russia began its extensive invasion, Ukrainians have had to put up with it for the past 18 months.

Although air raids are a common occurrence here, as the nation’s air defences have gotten better, they are becoming less frequent.

However, it does not lessen the shock of hearing thunderous explosions while in bed.

No one is given the day off from work just because Russia launched a missile strike. Residents quietly and promptly resumed their daily activities as we travelled to cover the city’s damaged neighbourhoods, sweeping up glass, providing police with statements, and reopening businesses that had been destroyed by the explosions.

It can be difficult to report there, yet we get to go. For Ukrainians who have lost loved ones and had their regular lives upended, it is even harder.

The crew in Kyiv will take some rest, and because I’ve been awake since 2:00, I’m going to sleep for a little while.
