Erling Haaland of Manchester City has been asked to go in the direction of Brentford boss Thomas Frank.

Frank stated that he mistakenly believed that only Haaland was intended to score a hat-trick in Saturday’s 2-1 Premier League loss for Man City against Brentford.

The 49-year-old Danish player made this statement while praising Ivan Toney, his striker, for scoring two goals against Man City at Etihad Stadium while Haaland, who had scored three goals against Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace, and Man United this season, was held without a goal against Brentford.

He thought Toney ought to have scored three goals against Pep Guardiola’s team.

Ivan Toney is fantastic, and I can’t thank him enough. His character and emotional quotient with his teammates and everyone else at the club,” Frank told BBC Sport following the game.

But what a player, too! Amazing striker! He scored two goals, but I think he should have added another. I had assumed that a hat-trick was only possible in Haaland.
