Mrs Precious Ifeanyi, a businesswoman and first-time mother, recently gave birth to sextuplets at the National Hospital in Abuja.

After 13 years of marriage to a pastor with Living Faith Church, Mrs Ifeanyi underwent In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) and successfully delivered four girls and two boys via caesarean section at 30 weeks.

Initially expecting quintuplets, she was surprised to discover that there were six babies. Reflecting on her journey, Mrs Ifeanyi shared that she and her husband had been trying to conceive since their marriage in 2010, but faced difficulties.

Despite seeking various treatments and spending money, they decided to patiently wait for God’s timing. Thankfully, their prayers were answered, and they are now blessed with six beautiful children.

The mother expressed to NAN that during the 13-year period of her pregnancy, she and her husband, who is a pastor at Living Faith Church in Chikara, Kogi State, spent a significant amount of money with no positive outcome.

She mentioned that it was frustrating to invest money in various medications and seek suggestions from others, only to have no success.

However, she stated that despite the discouragement, God intervened and turned the situation around. She shared that this was her first experience with IVF and that she began the procedure at Fertile Ground Hospital in Jos, Plateau State, and continued at the National Hospital in Abuja until she gave birth. Reflecting on her pregnancy, she admitted that it was challenging and took a toll on her physically.

She endured various difficulties throughout the journey, including two previous miscarriages. She mentioned that from the second week of this pregnancy, she experienced unique circumstances that made her believe it was different from the previous ones.

Despite the hardships, she persevered, finding relief in the fourth month but facing tedious and challenging times afterward. She explained that people who visited her a month ago witnessed the struggles she was going through.

The last two weeks before delivery were particularly difficult, as she experienced sleeplessness and discomfort in all positions. However, she found encouragement from Dr. Bello, who advised her to wait another week before delivering the babies.

Following his advice, she discovered that there was an extra baby she was unaware of.
