AFCON Qualifier: Osimhen scores three times as the Super Eagles defeat Sao Tome 6-0

Nigeria defeated Sao Tome and Principe 6-0 on Sunday to complete the qualification process for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles entered the match already having earned a spot in the competition for the next year.

The three-time African champions, though, showed no signs of letting up as they dominated the opposition from the opening minute.

Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman gave Nigeria a two-goal lead at halftime.

Before Osimhen got his hat-trick, Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi continued to score in the second half. In the waning moments, Samuel Chukwueze scored at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

With 15 points, the Eagles will win Group A.
