Rwanda’s coach has commented on Lookman’s disallowed goal during the AFCON 2025 qualifier. Discover his thoughts on the controversial decision.

In Tuesday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier held in Kigali, the head coach of Rwanda, Torsten Spittler has endorsed the decision made by Moroccan referee to invalidate Ademola Lookman’s goal for Super Eagles.

In the matchday two competition at Amahoro Stadium, both nations struggled to score and ended up with a 0-0 tie.

The center referee disallowed Lookman’s header in the 22nd minute.

According to Spittler, there was a violation that resulted in the goal.

Spittler explained that our player was pushed by Semi Ajayi, heading towards the second post, resulting in a foul leading to the goal.

The call was within the scope of reach for the referee.
