All nations that will compete in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations have until December 14 to submit their provisional squads for the competition, according to the Confederation of African Football, or CAF.
The teams are required by CAF regulations to submit a roster that can contain no more than 55 players.

There will be 27 players in the final squads, up from the initial 23 from the previous championships.
The majority of nations have already sent CAF their lists.
Even while it is certain that Jose Peseiro filed Nigeria’s list, it hasn’t been made public for some reason.
Pulse Sports Chief Editor Solace Chukwu tells Obasanjo News24, “I do know it has been submitted to CAF.”
Therefore, I can only presume that the announcement will be postponed for as long as possible in accordance with standard procedure.
There are reports that fresh players like Stanley Nwabali, custodian for Chippa United, and Jerome Akor, attacker for Montpellier, made the cut.
It is also thought that Onuche Ogbelu, a player from the elite Tunisian club Esperance, Alhassan Yusuf of Antwerp, and Chuba Akpom of Ajax were selected.
Ten days before the first match in the competition, on January 3, 2023, is when the final squads must be submitted.
During the event, only 23 players will be able to be selected for each match.
However, a player in the starting lineup may only be substituted in the event of a significant injury that occurs at least 24 hours prior to the team’s first game, and the CAF Medical Committee must accept the replacement with a medical certificate.
When Peseiro and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) decide to release the Super Eagles’ roster to the public is yet unknown.
