AFCON 2023: Sadiq’s presence in Super Eagles opener against Equatorial Guinea in question
The fitness of attacker Umar Sadiq is a concern for Super Eagles management ahead of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Group A matchup with Equatorial Guinea.

On Wednesday night, Sadiq had a separate workout from the rest of the team.
In Monday’s Super Eagles friendly with the Syli Stars of Guinea, the 26-year-old took a knock.
The Real Sociedad attacker must now race to recover in time for Sunday’s Super Eagles match against Nzalang Nacional at Alassanne Quattara Stadium.
Victor Osimhen of Napoli may be the sole available striker for the match versus Equatorial Guinea at this point.
Only on Saturday will Kelechi Iheanacho, who has recovered from a muscle ailment, join the Super Eagles team.
Terem Moffi, the star of OGC Nice in France and the injured Victor Boniface’s substitute, is anticipated to join the team on Sunday.
