The victories over Cameroon, a longtime adversary, and the host Cote d’Ivoire were impressive for Peseiro’s team.

But prior to the match against the Palancas Negras, the Portuguese team declined to be considered the favourites.

“The contest between the two teams vying to advance to the championship will be intense. Despite not being well-known, Angola has strong players and has performed well in this competition. In his Thursday media appearance in Abidjan, Peseiro stated, “It’s going to be a tough game.”

“It will be a difficult game, but in order to win, we must approach it with vigour, dedication, and a positive attitude.

It will be split 50/50 between the two teams. I have faith in my squad; we want to succeed even if we refuse to acknowledge that we are the favourites. We’re going to go fight there.

Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan will host a match between Nigeria and Angola on Friday.
