It seems that the Red Devils watched the action during Saturday’s match between the African heavyweights.
Ademola Lookman gave the Super Eagles a well-earned 2-0 lead by scoring once in the first half and again late in the second half.
Andre Onana, the custodian for Manchester United, started the entire match as a substitute for Cameroon.
Fabrice Ondoa, Onana’s cousin, was preferred by Rigobert Song, the manager of the Indomitable Lions, to play in goal.
The official website of Erik ten Hag’s team noted the forward’s contribution to the build-up to Lookman’s opening goal in their analysis of the match.
But before the half, Manchester United stated, “it was the three-time AFCON champions who took the lead, with Osimhen initially showing great strength to hold off Oumar Gonzalez.”
“The 26-year-old Lookman made no mistake from close range, tucking home despite Ondoa’s best efforts after the Napoli forward played him in with a neat pass.”
Numerous teams are rumoured to be interested in signing Victor Osimhen, including Manchester United. The Nigerian may be leaving the Italian Serie A champions at the conclusion of the season, Napoli has also announced.
