According to Elephants head coach Jean Louis Gasset, the top player for Borussia Dortmund is now sidelined with an injury and is not well enough to play against Nzalang Nacional.
However, the Frenchman stated that the 29-year-old will be eligible for the nation’s upcoming competitive games.
“Tomorrow Haller will not be available for Guinea-Bissau’s match, and with a five-day break, I believe he will return with the squad,” Gasset told a press conference in Abidjan on Friday.
“We are hopeful he will be useful for the next games. He has been training hard with other players facing similar problems.”
Cote d’Ivoire will also face Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau in the same group.
