In the team’s first game, a 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea, Peseiro deployed a 4-3-3 shape.
In contrast, the Portuguese have used a 3-4-3 system in their last two matches against Guinea-Bissau and Cote d’Ivoire.
The Portuguese asserted that he didn’t need to alter a successful tactic.
Nonetheless, Peseiro stated that his players must improve their finishing.
Peseiro said at a press conference on Friday, “I saw statistics yesterday, we created the highest number of chances in the group stage.”
“Why do we need to alter our play style if we can create chances?” Since our team is performing effectively, we don’t need to alter our approach.
“We must begin to convert our opportunities. For us, something has been lacking.
“It is possible, in my opinion, to score more goals while creating fewer chances. We’re hoping that tomorrow will provide better news in this regard.
“We wish to win and score. It is crucial to defend effectively, as we have done from the competition’s beginning.
