Adeleke emphasizes need for transparency in public governance

Federal and state Auditors-General have been called upon to contribute to the establishment of more accountable and transparent administrations for the benefit of the Nigerian populace.

This appeal was made by the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, during the commencement of the 53rd biannual conference organized by the Office of the Auditor-General, Osun State, in partnership with the Body of Federal and State Auditors-General, Nigeria, held in Ede on a Monday.

The event saw the presence of Auditors-General from various states across the country, with the state governor, Ademola Adeleke, represented by his deputy, Kola Adewusi, encouraging participants to utilize the platform to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and introduce innovative ideas that could enhance the efficiency of audit processes nationwide.

Governor Adeleke reiterated his administration’s commitment to empowering the Office of the Auditor-General in the state to execute its mandated responsibilities independently and efficiently.

He emphasized the significance of transparency, accountability, and open governance, stating that these principles are fundamental to good governance and building trust between the government and its citizens.

The governor highlighted the importance of providing necessary resources and support to ensure the autonomous and professional functioning of the Auditor-General’s office in Osun State.
