Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun, has urged the state’s National Youth Service Corps participants to embrace skill development and be creative after they graduate.
Additionally, Governor Adeleke tasked the Corps members with being suppliers of solutions to issues and needs affecting people.
At the 2023 Batch B Stream II orientation course’s swearing in and official opening ceremony at the NYSC orientation camp in Ede, he offered this advise.
Adeleke urged the Corps members to follow the road of dedication, hard work, and industry while being represented by Moshood Olagunju, the Commissioner for Youths Affairs.
“Embrace skill acquisition and entrepreneurship,” he said. As grads, be imaginative and inventive. Instead of merely considering what you can consume, start considering what you can generate or provide as a solution to the needs and issues of people.
“Adopt an entrepreneurial mindset and follow the path of diligence, industry, and hard work, which is the secret to long-term success and prosperity.”
The Governor urged the corps members to uphold the national anthem and oath of allegiance they took in front of witnesses and to refrain from enforcing their own laws.
Never break the law; instead, always express your complaints in a respectful and constitutionally appropriate manner. Keep in mind that you serve as a role model for the younger generation. So avoid doing anything that could mislead and deceive these children.
Ahead of time, Agbor Ndoma Obim, the Osun NYSC State Coordinator, disclosed that 1,808 corps members had registered overall.
According to Agbor, the NYSC offers the chance for personal growth and actualization as well as a way to contribute to the advancement of the country via selfless service.
He stated that the purpose of the NYSC programme was to “raise a set of disciplined, detribalized, and patriotic youths who would be posted to serve in States and communities other than their State of Origin and also seek employment opportunities outside their States of Origin, thereby fostering national unity and integration.”
