In reaction to the accusations made by the Osun All Progressives Congress, or APC, against the recently released White Paper, he remarked.

State leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have urged President Bola Tinubu and law enforcement to free the state from the anarchist grip of Governor Adeleke and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is in power.

According to Obasanjo News24, on January 18, 2024, the Osun State Government released a White Paper about traditional rulers and the recovery of public assets that were purportedly taken by political appointees during the Adegboyega Oyetola administration.

“The President has always commended him for clearing the mess he met in Osun, while also emphasising that President Tinubu abhors looting of public assets,” stated Governor Adeleke in a statement provided by Olawale Rasheed, his spokeswoman.

“I have had numerous interactions with President Tinubu, and I am aware that he values my efforts to tidy up the numerous mess I came across in Osun.

“The President has demonstrated by his actions that he respects due process and, as such, will never condone the looting of public property. Unfortunately, the Osun APC is currently acting in a way that is inconsistent with the President’s style of governing.

“Moreso, when our government first started, I established an Asset Recovery Committee and informed the majority of people who owned government properties that they needed to surrender them.

“As requested by the good people of the state, this is the committee’s report that I am currently acting upon.”

Despite claiming to be impartial in his governance of the state, Governor Adeleke said that he has not brought any political opponent before the anti-graft agency, even in situations where there were obvious grounds to do so.

Adeleke cautioned that his administration will spare no effort to retrieve all stolen public assets, even as he pleaded with the state’s appointees of the former administration to restore all assets in their custody.
