This challenge was communicated through a statement by the National Vice Chairman, South-East, Chilos Godsent.
The ADC believes that implementing a democratic local government council system in Imo State could empower over 10,000 youths economically and politically, leading to rapid development in rural areas and a decrease in criminal activities.
The party also emphasizes that such a system would improve the leadership skills of young individuals who would hold positions like council chairmen, deputy chairmen, councilors, and supervisory councilors.
Additionally, the ADC aligns itself with the view that a democratic local government structure would help reduce insecurity and crime rates in the state, as many youths turn to criminal activities due to unemployment and economic hardship.
The party criticizes the misuse of local government funds by past and present administrations in Imo State, who have appointed caretaker committees, transition committees, and sole administrators to exploit these resources.
In conclusion, the ADC is determined to lead the movement for political change in Imo State.
