Adamawa APC disregards the designated location and sets up “Buhari Square” for Tinubu’s campaign

The All Progressives Congress, APC, decided to launch its presidential campaign in Adamawa State at a hastily determined location rather than the state government-allotted Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola.

When Obasanjonews24 went to the new location on Sunday afternoon, they saw that the huge piece of land near the Yola International Airport where the event will now take place was almost done.

The administration of Ribadu Square, which had previously granted January 18 to the state’s leadership of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), had rejected a request to use the square on January 9 for the launch of the state governorship campaign, stating that the inner grounds of the square would still be under renovation by that date.

While the state government and the APC leadership were still talking about this, the national APC PCC leadership released a new campaign schedule that moved the Yola presidential campaign from January 18 to January 9.

When the government, in a letter signed by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s chief of staff, Professor Maxwell Gidado, said that the governor had granted a new request for the venue made by the state coordinator of the APC PCC, Martins Babale, for January 9, it seemed that the claim that the state government had denied the APC use of Ribadu Square had been settled.

On Sunday afternoon, Muhammadu Buhari Square—which had just been given that name—was teeming with activity, whereas Ahmadu Ribadu Square was completely empty.

By Sunday afternoon, many pavilions and a platform had been built, but there was still work to be done to complete the new facility.

The area, which was formerly unoccupied, has been cleared, levelled, and marked with a big marker that reads Muhammadu Buhari Square.
