In Adamawa State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disapproved of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s victory over its nominee, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, also referred to as Aishatu Binani, before the tribunal.
The Adamawa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal had earlier on Saturday recognised Fintiri as the legitimately elected governor of the state.
In a ruling that extended until 4:30 p.m., the tribunal determined that the APC and its candidate for governor, Binani, were unable to provide sufficient evidence against Fintiri and that resident electoral commissioner Hudu Yunusa-Ari had committed a crime when he had declared Binani the winner during the results announcement process.
Idris Shuaibu, the APC’s state chairman, responded to the ruling by saying that it shocked both the party and him.

“We have hope because there are two more channels for us to voice our complaints after the tribunal and for the tribunal’s decision to be overturned,” he stated.
Lawyer and former legal advisor to the party in the state Shuaibu said that the APC will work with the national leadership to request a certified copy of the ruling, review it, and consider filing an appeal.
Shuaibu declared, “This judgement is not the true reflection of the mandate of Adamawa voters.”
Thanking the party for their support, he asked its members to maintain composure.
He declared, “The APC in Adamawa State is determined to use every legal avenue to obtain our mandate.”
