Toyin Adegbola, popularly known as Toyin Tomato, is a seasoned Nollywood actress who has discussed her thoughts on divorce and encouraged women to stay in their marriages in spite of difficulties.
In a Monday Instagram Live, the well-liked actress talked about marital equality and said that, contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t exist in marriage.
Even in situations where there has been adultery, Toyin Tomato encouraged women to stay with their husbands and take the appropriate precautions to protect themselves from sexually transmitted infections (STDs).
Conversations on conventional marriage beliefs and the challenges women experience navigating modern marital dynamics were ignited by her remarks.

Toyin Adegbola’s position stems from her conviction that challenges will arise in any marriage, but that women in particular should handle them with caution and self-care.
“Regardless of how awful your spouse is, never consider kicking him out or abandoning his home because you will subsequently have to beg when your kids have a big occasion. No man will marry you if you leave your marriage because you, the woman, have suffered in it. Remain in your spouse’s home and implore him to defend himself.
“When my friend’s husband travels to Nigeria, she always gets him packs of condoms. The man called me when he got there to tell me what my friend had done. Does he intend to have an affair? Could a lady travel to Nigeria and have her spouse purchase her condoms? I will not stop saying that we do not have equal rights.
Men, please accept us as your firstborn children and carry us on your shoulders. Men may be very intelligent, but they can also be incredibly ignorant, which is why we married you and had you as our first child. You will see anything we want you to see,” the woman declared.
