Actress Lilian Afegbai complains, “I never knew power outages occurred abroad.”
Nollywood star Lilian Afegbai has lamented South Africa’s erratic electricity grid.
Prior to her recent trip to South Africa, the actress claimed she was unaware that power shortages might occur abroad.
She used her Instagram live session to vent about her bad experience with South African power disruptions.
She remarked, “Any little thing they go take light oh; four, six hours. They are going to dey give you texts and go on to tell you that they are going to take you at regular times. They arrive, call me by one name, and announce load shedding. What have you deigned to shed for the load? NEPA give light, or NEPA don’t give light?
“And no network, data, or anything else worked when we took this light for here. I go to the movies to see movies de light…And for the home, dem don’t have generators unless they’re in one of these established sites.
“Our own [for Nigeria] sef if light goes out we dey get network but here you no fit communicate, you no go get network. Even if they take the light, I ride my generator to my house [in Nigeria]. But there’s no gen to go on.
When the last incident occurred, I was not in the dark since I had waited until it was bright enough to watch TV and turn off all of my devices, including my phone. I just went outside and said, “NEPA don bring light oh!” My neighbor came de and gave me the look of someone crazy.
