Acting PDP Chair Damagum Refuses to Resign Under Intimidation

PDP Acting Chair Damagum asserts that he will not be intimidated into resigning. Read his statement and the context behind his firm stance.

Ambassador Umar Damagum, the current National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has confidently declared that he will not succumb to any pressure or threats aimed at forcing him to step down from his position.

At the National Reconciliation and Disciplinary Committees’ inauguration, Damagum rebuked those demanding his resignation by stating that such endeavors only bolster his popularity.

He declared, “Talking about Damagum this and that to everyone is not intimidating me. On the contrary, it only makes me more popular.”

Let him send a message accordingly.

Following reports indicating that the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) may discipline him and National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu for sending a letter deemed as anti-party to the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt, Damagum has commented.

There are reports stating that certain party leaders, such as those in the National Executive Committee (NEC), have suggested imposing sanctions on both Damagum and Anyanwu.
